The letters chiefly concern Alfred Tennyson's play The foresters, based on the story of Robin Hood and Maid Marian, with actress Miss Rehan and producer Daly. Most of the letters are on letterhead from either Aldworth, Haslemere, Surrey or Farringford, Freshwater, Isle of Wight. (5) appears to be incomplete; (12) the body of letter is in Hallam Tennyson's hand and the signature is Alfred Tennyson's; (36) refers to an engagement of Twelfth night; (39) includes accompanying envelope addressed to Daly at Daly's Theatre, Leicester Square, London.
